Weiss, Hugh
(1925 Philadelphia- ) (USA / France)
   Fantasy painter and draughtsman. Studied art at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia and at the Barnes Foundation in Merion, PA. Resident in Paris since 1948, he has been called the "most French of American painters." He has depicted subjects as diverse as portraits, animals, cars, trompe l'oeil, and self-mocking humor.
